JC Racetekniks Thomas Bryntesson och Ola Frøshaug kommer till start i Höljes med varsin Supercar

JC Raceteknik set for big attack in Euro RX and RX2 at Holjes

Swedish rallycross team JC Raceteknik is set for a big attack as it heads to its home round of the FIA European Rallycross Championship and RX2 International Series at Holjes this weekend (June 30 – July 2).

Following his first ever Supercar victory in the most recent round of the RallyX Nordic Championship just over a week ago, Thomas Bryntesson is hoping to continue with the strong pace he showed in the opening two rounds of the year in Spain and Norway, but needs more luck to be on his side than has been so far to achieve a good result at ‘The Magic Weekend’ in Holjes. Ola Froshaug continues to improve every time he races the Ford Fiesta Supercar and is targeting a start in the semi-finals, with his eyes set on fighting for a place in the final, in the 35-car field.

In the RX2 category, Sondre Evjen is seeking a strong result following a pair of character-building events in RX2 and RallyX Nordic, and like the rest of the JC Raceteknik drivers has experience of testing at Holjes already this year. William Nilsson has his sights on a podium finish at home, while local driver Marcus Hoglundmade his RX2 debut at Holjes last season and qualified for the final, but retired with a mechanical problem.

Guillaume De-Ridder makes the trip north from Belgium for the event and on another new circuit to learn, is aiming to qualify for the semi-finals in the competitive field. No less than 35 drivers are entered in Euro RX Supercar, with 24 in RX2, making it one of the most competitive rallycross events in the world.

The weekend gets underway on Friday afternoon (June 30). Keep up to date with the action across the three days on the JC Raceteknik Facebook page and website.

Joel Christoffersson, Team Principal :
“Holjes is the highlight of the year. It's not just a rallycross race, but a famous party too. All of our drivers are looking forward to the competition and have tested at the track. Of course, it goes without saying that it would be fun to get a driver on the podium there.”

Euro RX Supercar: Thomas Bryntesson (NOR) :
“This event is my highlight of the year. I aim first and foremost to catch up to the leaders in the championship, but I really hope to fight for victory. My speed in the car has been there all season and we’ve also shown we can win events. It would be incredible to score a Supercar victory in front of the home crowd in Holjes.”

Euro RX Supercar: Ola Froshaug (NOR) :

“Holjes is a special event because all Norwegians and Swedes who like rallycross go there. I've competed there several times before, but in the Supernational class. The track suited me then, but of course it’s something else to drive a Supercar there. I go with the plan of making the semi-finals, and from there it can all happen.”

RX2: Sondre Evjen (NOR) :
"I'm really desperate for a victory! We have tested at Holjes earlier this year and then the speed was there to climb to the top of the podium. Holjes and Hell are of course the highlights of the year for me and I'm looking forward to the weekend.”

RX2: William Nilsson (SWE) :
"I badly want a podium. To succeed in front of the Swedish crowd has been a dream for me. There is something special about Holjes, both the atmosphere and that there are so many drivers, which means that half of the field go out before the semi-finals. It’s going to be a tough competition.”

RX2: Guillaume De-Ridder (BEL) :
"I'm convinced that The Magic Weekend will be a great experience. To get into the semi-final is the main goal, but I also have a hunger to drive in the final. At the same time, I'm a rookie in RX2 and it's a big start field, so nothing will be easy.”

RX2: Marcus Hoglund (SWE) :
“Holjes is my home track and on my debut last year I made the final. It's a big entry and many drivers want to win. While the others have driven in many races, I’m the joker who can pop up and hopefully spring a surprise.”
